When I was a teen, I prayed and sought the Lord for His direction as I taught Bible clubs and shared the Gospel. I desperately wanted to do Missions, travel and share His Word. God planned for me to meet and marry a man from Ukraine and we moved to Ukraine and lived their 2 years. We were busy as he went to the local University and we dove into evangelism outreach, hosted American Missions teams, worked alongside our local church and arranged the first ever Family Life Marriage conference in Eastern Ukraine. So much happening, so much joy working alongside and serving the Lord.
Fast forward over a decade later and we live stateside, raising 4 kids and running a business.
Where is my Missions heart now? How are we daily sharing the Gospel with others?
With so much evil in the world, the Lord's return has been heavy on my heart.
As a fellow mommy with many others around the world, my encouragement is daily share the Gospel as we teach our little ones and those around us.
Pray for God to give you and I a heart to see His work in our little ones lives and those around us. When I read the latest news to them, we stop and pray for our leaders, what God is doing around our nation and the world. I want them to have a heart for the Mission God has given all of us. No matter where we live.
"Pray without ceasing"
That means even thoughout my day.
2. FOCUS (my day on HIM)
Is what I say and do focusing on the Lord? How am I showing this to my children?
So many times I fall short, but by God's grace He has given me new mercies every morning. Same with my children. May I show them mercy and grace when they need it.
What can I do with them today that is focusing on Him? A devotional. A craft. Reading a Missionary story. Writing a letter to encourage a friend.
For you and I in this ever social media driven world, are my online actions pleasing to Him? Or am I wasting precious time?
God has given us so much in this country. How are you and I showing our children to give to others? We have been going through our closets, their toys and household items to donate. Are they seeing you give at church? Having them give from their weekly allowance has helped them see their giving in action.
We also do Operation Christmas Child each year.
And since they don't have a Christmas Child program in Ukraine, we help give to the local church and fellow believers as well.
4. GO! (to your neighbors)
With Halloween around the corner, our family has bought Gospel tracts to hand out each year with treats. Praying for our neighbors and giving gospel tracts at Target and wherever we shop has been an opporunity to share Christ with those around us even though we don't live overseas. My oldest daughter especially had a desire to give Gospel tracts to a worker at Target and the person receiving took it so well since a child gave it to her! Pray where God can use you in your day-to-day activities.
5. LOOK at life with ETERNITY in MIND
Part of seeing God work more in my own life has been slowing down with outside things that don't really matter . Do I need to attend another tupperware/nail/hair/clothing/ party? Although those things are nice, is it with Eternity in mind?
