Modern Coastal: Remote Design

My latest project has been working on a San Diego Vacation Rental: 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath, 2 living rooms, kitchen and a bonus game room.

Today I'll be sharing my eDesigns for the bedrooms!

Bedroom 1:

This main bedroom will fill you with peace and tranquility. I love the warmth the wood brings amongst the blues+creams. A great way to balance out wood tones is to add in solid color - I opted for white nightstands with a splash of gold. The blue pillows help pull from the designed area rug & keep it subtle. I love adding texture in small ways, and the striped design on the bench is perfect for this space - bonus: the leather strap decor! I found a local photographer who captured our beautiful SoCal beach - this piece pulls so nicely next to the rattan wall plug-in sconces. Guests will enjoy sitting back next to greenery reading a book in this rental :) :)

Bedroom 2:

I call bedroom 2 the calm room. Upon walking in you're greeted by the oversized, soft, wool rug. I decided to keep the bed lighter with the pop of navy blue nightstands on each side. I love the half circle gold pulls on the cabinets! They pair nicely with the circle table décor. Amongst the blues we need warmth - that is pulled through the standing wood floor lamp, wicker basket and the wood legs on these beautiful blue accent chairs. When having two accent chairs close to each other always add a small side table between. Now to break-up the circles going on in this room I found these beautiful black & white coastal prints--which blend beautifully with wooden frames. For this rental, I love keeping the bedding white with different blue accent pillows.

Bedroom 3:

Masculine + Coastal Vibes Only! I love the bold dark bed paired with coastal accents. My favorite furniture piece in this room is hands down the wood and leather bench. This room has a mix of wood tones... the nightstands are a lighter wood tone, which mellows out the darker colors. I'm obsessed with the gold, globe wall plug-in sconces. Amazon is a great source for finding lighting. This black and white shag rug ties this room together with the black & white palm tree wall art.

Bedroom 4:

Ahh, the final bedroom - the bunk room! When renting out a house you want to get the max amount guests you can, all still white having comfort in the home. This smaller room is a cozy space for guests to unwind together. The fun blue rug truly makes this on of a kind white Twin over Queen bed pop! You can feel as if you're in the waves relaxing in this hanging hammock chair. With a large piece of bedding being solid white, you'll want to balance out the room with a touch of wood - these wooden nightstands keep this space fun with the gold accents and design.

I can't wait to capture these after photos once fully furnished! Stay tuned.

XO, Leah Rachel
